Wilderness Canoe Trip

Minnesota Prayer Alliance Awakening Conference

Parents Forever

Parents Forever, an educational program for parents in divorce/separation transition, is designed to help parents and single parents co-parenting with another parent, learn how to make informed, child-supportive decisions during this difficult transition. Classes will be held July 10 and 11 from 8:30 am - 12:30 or July 14 and 15 from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Cost for the two day class is $50 per person. Backus Community Center June & July Events

July 24 - 4-H Fashion Review at 7 pm, cost is free. July 25 - "Summer on the Border" a musical variety at 7 pm, cost for adults is $10, students (12 and under) $5. July 30 a Reception for Pastor Tom and Beckie Aitken from 6-9 pm.

The 2008 Summer Recital Series

Bemidji area church musicians are presenting "The 2008 Summer Recital Series", to be held each Wednesday, noon to 12:30 pm. The next recital in this series is scheduled for July 9 at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 5405 Hwy 2 W (across from Amigo Theater). Lois Simonson will be the guest pianist. A free will offering will be taken to support music scholarships. Lunch will be available following each recital.

Voyageurs National Park Friday Evening Program

Camp, hike, fish or swim? Recreation is on the rise and it's important for those entering natural spaces to be aware of the impacts they have on the landscape. Join VNP Naturalist Samantha Palm for a presentation with hands on techniques on "Leave No Trace" ethics, Friday, July 11 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Learn to minimize the impact on the landscape and still enjoy the outdoors. The Friday evening program will be held at the Woodenfrog State Forest Campground Refectory near Lake Kabetogama. No fee or registration is required to attend. Chad is a self employed logger and is unable to work due to a back injury and surgeries. Family and friends are hosting this benefit to help the Whites with medical and other expenses. DNR Public Meeting
